About Greg

My Story:

Hi! I'm Greg Thompson. Growing up Catholic, I had a fascination with understanding the divine from a young age—one that would not be fully quenched until adulthood. While studying business and film studies at the College of William & Mary and working in marketing and communications professionally, I found solace in both my local faith community and the writings of modern spiritual masters.

I began to pursue a Masters in Theological Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School after coming out and looking for answers for how to operate within in my faith. While there, I focused on digital storytelling and our modern means for giving voice to the marginalized. As a result, I started my podcast, “Out Loud: LGBT Stories of Faith,” as a means of empowering the LGBTQIA+ to own and share their experiences of the divine.

After graduation, I hope to move into the classroom to help young people find their voice through literature and the arts, while continuing to advocating for the LGBT community through podcasting here in Nashville.

You Are What You Read… And Listen To…

My favorite authors, podcasters, and influencers include Rob Bell, David Brooks, Brené Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert, Malcolm Gladwell, Ira Glass, James Martin, Mark Nepo, Pádraig Ó Tuama, Richard Rohr, and Krista Tippett.
